Purple Transformations

The five things a constructor does to the letters. Run this pass in string-mode.

When to use it: a group makes no semantic sense — weird entries, near-words, or the last group left that you cannot crack by meaning. Empty meaning-mode is the cue to flip to string-mode and ask “what was done to these?”

Move	What to look for	Example
± a letter	A familiar word/name, lightly damaged. Add one to make a new word, or drop one.	VENO ← VENMO
Hidden word	A smaller word buried inside the entry.	THINKING · ISLAND
Homophone	Say it aloud — it sounds like something else.	KNIGHT = NIGHT
Anagram	Same letters, reordered into another word.	LISTEN → SILENT
Add a word	Each entry + the same word (front or back) makes a phrase.	CAT, GOLD + FISH
